Well, after all the trials and tribulations, the fumes, the cracked poles and the broken zippers on our beloved Marmot tent, the tent that saw us through Africa and Europe, the tent that protected us from gale force winds, fierce sandstorms, crazy thunderstorms and the odd stray bullet, is officially no more. It’s finished….for real now. Since we won’t be needing a tent for the rest of our trip and the cost of shipping her home was outrageous, Spiros took out a pair of scissors and finally put an end to her suffering. It was painful but it had to be done. We’re sending home a few key pieces to remember her by.

My condolences.
And thanks for the tip! I should keep a small piece of my beloved magic carpet as it’s been faithful on 4 continents.
