We happened to walk by an art gallery the other day. In the window were several papier mache women with hugely disproportionate bottom halves in different poses and outfits. Wow! Had we the money and if I thought they could withstand the rain and wind, I would have bought one of these lovely ladies and strapped her onto my handlebars for the rest of our trip.
I hadn’t heard of Titou, the artist, before but clearly he or she is a genius, a visionary for our times …and I ain’t just saying that because of the uncanny resemblance BTW (I mean really, look at the picture; the humongous thighs, the crazy hair, the odd shaped feet. If it wasn’t for the doll’s keen fashion sense, I’d swear I was looking in a mirror.)
I’m convinced that this is a sign that “the times, they are a changing”. No longer will the runways and fashion magazines glorify long, thin, toned legs. Short, stubby and hugely disproportionate will soon be the new “in look”. That’s right all you ladies out there with thunder thighs. Rejoice, crack open the champagne and a box of cookies. Our time has come and I for one just want to say: “Well, it’s about bloody time!” Woohoo!
