I’m pooped. Absolutely, without-a-doubt, exhausted, spent, sans juice, trashed, zapped of energy, dog-tired…pooped. My legs feel like quivering masses of jelly. Since leaving Arusha, we have cycled 1550 kms, climbed over 13,430 m over 14 days with only two rest days in between. Today in particular, we climbed 1940m (2 Cypresses for Vancouverites) over 126 km. In of itself, it’s a good day, but tack it onto all the preceding 100km days and it was quite a tough day for most of us. It was beautiful though, complete with some sweeping descents, stunning green hills and even a rainbow. Awesome! We are camping at a school ground tonight, seems as if the whole town has come out to see us. I’m sorry, I would write more, but I need to conserve my energy for things like sitting up and chewing. I think I’ll go prop myself up in front of the “kitchen” and stare pitifully at John, the cook. (I’m hungry too).
