Cycling The Road Less Travelled

Our doctor advised us to try the malaria pills he wants to prescribe for us for our trip. So far, we have each taken two. We thought we would get a looksie at the “Information for the Patient” leaflet inside the box. Hmmm, seems like there may be a few side effects:

• Nausea…yup
• Vomiting…not yet, but close
• Abdominal discomfort …check
• Headache, dizziness and insomnia…check, check and check!
• Severe anxiety…oh yeah!
• Hallucinations and psychosis…nice, very nice.
• Unusual behaviour…does deciding to cycle through Africa count?
• Bad dreams…I had a dream about being abducted by the Osmond family. Let me tell you, Donny and Marie aren’t as nice as they seem.

Seems like these pills are working just fine. Now if I can only get that song out my head “I’m a little bit country…I’m a little bit rock n’ roll.”
